They met when Alan and Status Quo along with Slade and Lindisfarne toured Australia in 1973. The band played their first gig at Elsams Welcome Inn in 1967 after meeting at Sedge Hill Comprehensive School in Catford. My heart goes out to his wonderful wife dale and their family very sad to hear of the passing of alan lancaster bassist from StatusQuo.
